Two errors appeared in Ridderstråle et al. (BioTechniques 39:316–320; September 2005) in the article entitled “Single-day FISH procedure for paraffin-embedded tissue sections using a microwave oven.” In step 3 of the protocol appearing on page 318, the authors stated that they prepared a solution using 2500–3000 U/mg pepsin purchased from Sigma; the correct activity is 2500–3500 U/mg. In the same statement, the authors indicated that the pepsin was dissolved in 2× SSC; this should have read 0.9% sodium chloride, pH 1.5–2.0. The subsequent wash steps are, however, performed with 2× SSC, as indicated.
