Traditionally, life scientists have had only one primary forum to access and view poster presentations—scientific conferences. BioTechniques, the leading journal of life science methods, is proud to bring you the latest BioTechniques Poster Hall—an interactive electronic supplement that provides life scientists the opportunity to view posters at their leisure.
Detection of emerging or acute infections of Avian Influenza (AI), Mycoplasma synoviae (MS), and Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) is critical to prevent dramatic loss to the flock, dictate appropriate treatment measures, and limit disease spread. Commercial producers monitor flocks regularly for AI, MS, or MG infection, typically by ELISA or gold standard methods.
Protein Tyrosine Kinases (PTKs) play important roles in modulating a wide variety of cellular events, including differentiation, proliferation, metabolism and apoptosis. Those regulations are mediated by a series of signal cascades that involve phosphorylation of tyrosine residues in target proteins.
Abstract: Transient transfection in mammalian cell lines provides an avenue
for researchers to bridge the development bottleneck and shorten the time to
usable protein. The method also maintains post translational modifications
crucial for biotherapeutic function.
Advances in cloning techniques have greatly increased the number of samples
requiring small-scale plasmid preparation, or mini preps. The large scale
purification schemes of the past have given way to the development of small
scale, massively parallel purifications requiring semi-automated or
Advances in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) have increased both the throughput and capacity of sequencing platforms, calling for increased efficiency in sample preparation and the ability to work with small and precious samples. NuGEN’s portfolio of NGS products meets this challenge by enabling simple, rapid and affordable sample preparation workflows for key applications on leading NGS platforms.
The Transplex® Complete Whole Transcriptome Amplification (WTA2) Kit has been
enhanced to effectively amplify damaged RNA and low input amounts of
RNA.Total RNA samples isolated from matched
FFPE(formalin-fixedparaffin-embedded) and frozen prostate tissues (malignant
and normal) were amplified with the Transplex® Complete WTA2 Kit and
analyzed on Agilent Whole Genome expression microarrays. A call rate of >65%
was observed for combined FFPE and frozen expression differentials
(Malignant/Normal), with >90% commonality between the FFPE and frozen
The efficacy of amplification of small quantities of total RNA with the
Transplex® Complete Whole Transcriptome Amplification Kit (WTA2) was
examined in this study. Total RNA extracted from decreasing numbers of
FACS-isolated bone marrow stem cells(10-,100-,and1000-cell samples) was
amplified with the Transplex® Complete WTA2 Kit.
Introduction: Array Tape is a continuous, flexible polymer serially embossed with reaction wells in customized volumes and formats. The Array Tape Platform includes modular liquid handling (Nexar), detection (Araya) and thermocycling (Soellex) instruments that increase throughput, flexibility and cost savings compared to microplate-based technologies.
The chemokine receptor CXCR4 has multiple critical functions in normal
physiologies including embryonic development of the cardiovascular,
hemopoietic and central nervous systems. It has also been implicated in
disease pathologies such as HIV infection, cancer metastasis, leukemia
progression and rheumatoid arthritis, and is fueling the search for small
molecule CXCR4 antagonists as a means for intervention1.
