AstraGene spectrophotometer for DNA/RNA and Protein analysis
AstraNet Systems’ AstraGene spectrophotometer for DNA/RNA and protein analysis is designed for micro-sample analysis. The spectrophotometer, which requires a sample volume of 2µl, retains the sample, enabling further analysis or processing to be carried out where the sample available is small, finite or precious. The AstraGene uses the company’s through-the tip measurement principle to eliminate the risk of contamination and carryover and can perform measurements in under 2 seconds, according to AstraNet. It can also be fitted for an optional cuvette holder for traditional measurements or for samples that require longer path-lengths. The software can switch between protocols for nucleic acids, proteins and microarrays and displays the wavelength scan along with automatically calculated values including concentrations and purity ratios.
