Norgen Biotek's kits for nucleic-acid based diagnostics includes kits for the diagnosis of human pathogens, food-borne pathogens, and plant pathogens.
Norgen Biotek's kits for nucleic-acid based diagnostics includes kits for the
diagnosis of human pathogens such as: HPV, HIV, HSV-1 & 2, HBV, chlamydia,
gonorrhea; food-borne pathogens such as listeria, salmonella, and
streptococcus species; and plant pathogens such as: plum pox virus (PPV),
aspergillus, penicillium, and boytritis. In terms of diagnostic kits for the
human pathogens, the company has paid particular attention to the
development of kits based on non-invasive sample preparation.
The diagnostic kits are complete kits that include all the components for the
isolation of high quality inhibitor-free nucleic acid, as well as the
required master mixes and controls to allow for PCR amplification and
detection. The kits combine both sensitivity and specificity of detection,
and include controls to eliminate false negatives and problematic
isolations.

concentration. Norgen has one platform technology with many applications
based on a proprietary resin that can be applied in the purification of DNA,
RNA and proteins. The uniqueness and novelty of this technology has been
recognized by the National Research Council through awarding Norgen the
prestigious “Innovation Leader Award for 2003”. The company holds more than
a dozen issued patents and several others are pending. Norgen currently
manufactures over 40 products that are used by researchers working in
genomics and proteomics in academia, pharma/biotech companies, and
government institutions. These products are based on Norgen’s novel
technology and include: RNA purification kits, ProteoSpin™ brand protein
kits, DNA kits and molecular weight ladders.
