KrosFlo Research IIi Tangential Flow Filtration system
Spectrum Laboratories introduced the new KrosFlo Research IIi Tangential Flow
Filtration (TFF) System. The system—perfect for R&D scale microfiltration
and ultra-filtration processing—comes with the digital pressure monitor
integrated into the peristaltic pump. Both the pump and pressure monitor
functions are controlled by the same PLC/HMI. Four pressure measurements are
displayed including feed, retentate, permeate and transmembrane pressure.
The system has audible and visual low-, high-pressure alarms for the inlet
and a high-pressure pump shutoff that helps maintain membrane integrity and
achieve high product recovery, Spectrum reports. The KFComm data collection
software included with the system interfaces with a computer to download
real time process data to an Excel file. The information captured includes
pressures and flow rates. The software also calculates and trends
transmembrane pressure, filtration flux, shear, volumetric throughput and
the concentration factor.
