Agilent Technologies, Inc. introduced the SureSelect target enrichment system. The product is to help scientists streamline DNA sequencing research by enabling them arrange only genomic areas of interest with next-generation sequencing instrumentation. The product will reduce sample complexity, allowing researchers to analyze more samples per study with fewer resources. SureSelect highlights the part of the genome of interest. It also replaces other labor- intensive methods of targeted re-sequencing such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR) techniques that are major bottlenecks in most next-generation sequencing workflows. The product requires less genomic DNA than on-array or PCR based approaches. The product is a ready to use kit. SureSelect ranges in study size and has thousands of samples. Scientists can design their own custom mixtures using Agilent’s online tool.
