Keystone Symposia: DNA Replication and Recombination & Genomic Instability held jointly with DNA Repair
Date: March 03, 2013
Location: Banff, Alberta, Canada

These meetings are held jointly...

The DNA Replication and Recombination meeting is organized by James M. Berger of University of California, Berkeley, Wolf-Dietrich Heyer of University of California, Davis and Julia Promisel Cooper of London Research Institute.

The Genomic Instability and DNA Repair meeting is organized by Stephen P. Jackson of the University of Cambridge, Alan D. D'Andrea of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Susan M. Gasser of Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research.

Together they will:

  • Convene with joint keynote addresses by Frederick W. Alt of HHMI/Children’s Hospital Boston and Disease Immune Institute and Kenneth J. Marians of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, followed by four days of stimulating plenary sessions, workshops and poster sessions;
  • Identify and discuss the key challenges in our understanding of DNA replication and recombination by integrating mechanistic biochemistry, single molecule analysis, structural biology, molecular genetics and cell biological approaches;
  • Investigate how DNA damage is dealt with at the molecular, cellular and whole-organism levels and address the as yet incompletely understood links between DNA-damage responses and events such as cell cycle progression, DNA replication and the control of telomere structure.

The meetings will share two joint sessions and a joint workshop in addition to the keynote session. Registering for one meeting in a joint pair enables attendance at sessions of the other, pending space availability.
