Keystone Symposia: Stem Cell Regulation in Tissue Homeostasis and Disease
Date: February 24, 2013
Location: Banff, Alberta, Canada
Organized by Sean J. Morrison of HHMI/University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Iannis Aifantis of HHMI/New York University School of Medicine and Yukiko M. Yamashita of University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, the conference will:
- Convene with a keynote address by George Q. Daley of Children’s Hospital Boston, followed by four days of stimulating plenary and poster sessions;
- Aim to identify new and common mechanisms governing physiologic and disease stem cell function, self-renewal and differentiation across tissues and species;
- Integrate basic and translational stem cell research, avoiding the artificial separation of these disciplines, and also integrate scientists from peripheral areas that have not previously been considered relevant to stem cell biology;
- Provide for ample free time in a scenic setting for informal networking and collaboration-building.
