Terms and conditions
This contest is open to all subscribers. To enter the contest, applicants must submit a high-resolution original cover design along with name and contact details to [email protected] by 1 October 2020. The winner will be notified by 20 October 2020.
The theme of the cover is the result of lab research. Each applicant is restricted to a single entry. Artwork specifications are as follows: 210x275mm portrait orientation, high-resolution (300 dpi) PDF or JPEG format. The winning cover will be featured in the December 2020 print edition of BioTechniques and will be profiled in that issue and online at www.biotechniques.com. Late entries will not be considered. All entries must be the original work of the applicant and must not contain the work of any other individuals nor infringe on any copyrights.
The sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is alleged to infringe on any third-party’s intellectual property rights, or that the sponsor deems inappropriate for viewing by a general audience. Applicants acknowledge and agree that the sponsor will have the right to use and publish their entries without compensation to applicants.
By entering the contest, (i) you grant sponsor an exclusive, royalty-free and irrevocable right and license to edit, reproduce, publish, display and otherwise use your entry, in whole or in part, for any purpose and in any manner or media (including, without limitation, the Internet) throughout the world in perpetuity, without limitation or further compensation; (ii) you represent that you have all rights necessary to submit your entry and to grant the sponsor the rights granted in section (i), above; (iii) you agree that, if your entry is selected by the sponsor as the winner, you will sign any additional license or release that the sponsor may require and you will not publicly distribute or display your entry without the express permission of the sponsor; (iv) if selected as the Winner, you grant the sponsor permission to use your name and biographical information in connection with any use of your entry permitted herein; and (vi) you agree to release the sponsor, its affiliated companies, and the officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each, from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the contest or with the sponsor’s exercise of the rights granted herein (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages related to copyright rights, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light).
