Update to registration system brings biology and chemistry closer together and provides a platform for new methodologies.

Dotmatics Ltd (Bishop’s Stortford, UK) has released a major update for their web-based registering system for biological entities, named Bioregister 3.0. As the roles of biologists and chemists cross over increasingly, the latest version has new capabilities for non-natural and chemically-modified biologics. Entity relationship tracking and setup/maintenance have all been revamped to improve the quality of the service.

Bioregister 3.0 enhances the existing features of the service. Companies are able to capture and record information about candidate biologic entities. Once captured the uniqueness of these entities can be determined and then assigned registration numbers. Information can be recorded from supporting entities including non-natural and chemically modified biologics.

Andrew LeBeau, senior manager of biologics marketing, explains how Bioregister can fulfil the needs of any company.

“It is critical for organizations developing new biologics-based therapeutics to protect their intellectual property by identifying, characterizing, and tracking uniqueness across a broad range of entity types. Bioregister 3.0 offers users a fully functional, comprehensive system that is reliable, easy to use and integrates seamlessly with the Dotmatics suite and other informatics environments.”

Many new features are introduced in Bioregister 3.0. Some highlights include: expanded entity support for biologics with chemical details, the ability to create and manage monomer libraries from Elemental and to build entities and create complexes from monomers.

The Dotmatics CEO, Stephen Gallagher, is hopeful that Bioregister 3.0 will enhance development of biologic entities:

“Dotmatics is committed to expanding our biologics capabilities, as customer demand grows for products that will help them speed innovation in drug development.”
