Jennifer Waters

Jennifer Waters received her PhD in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (NC, USA) in 1998, under the guidance of Ted Salmon. After teaching a graduate level microscopy course at Wake Forest University (NC, USA) for several years, she began her current position at Harvard Medical School (MA, USA) in 2001. Jennifer directs two imaging core facilities, the Nikon Imaging Center and the Cell Biology Microscopy Facility, which collectively contain 18 light microscopes used by over 100 labs from Harvard Medical School. She teaches microscopy courses and workshops at Harvard, organizes an annual two-week intensive course on Quantitative Imaging at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (NY, USA) and is the creator of the educational YouTube channel Microcourses. In 2019, she received a Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Imaging Scientist award.
