Black History Month

In honor of the 100th anniversary of Black History Month in February, we’re hosting a series of podcasts with Black scientists in which we’ll discuss how their research is bridging diversity gaps in genomic data, Alzheimer’s research and more. This podcast series will run alongside written interviews and an infographic timeline – created in collaboration with our sister sites Bioanalysis Zone, RegMedNet and Oncology Central – that notes pivotal scientific contributions made by Black scientists over the last 100 years.

International Women’s Day

On 8 March, we’ll share an updated version of our IWD resource list, which contained key online communities, books and films that highlight the incredible contributions of women across science, society and culture while addressing the systemic barriers they continue to confront.

Image Competition 2026

The Image Competition is back in 2026! Start preparing your scientific images so that by the time the submission window opens in spring, you’ll be ready to enter. You can submit up to ten scientific images or illustrations that you’ve taken or created during your studies; these images can be of microscopic structures, ecological findings or anything that you’ve come across in your life science research. But don’t forget to include information about the methods you’re using to capture your stunning images.
