Jens Coorssen

Jens trained in Canada (BSc, MSc, PhD), the Max Planck Institute (Heidelberg, Germany), and the USA as an NIH Visiting Scientist. He then joined the Faculty of Medicine and the Hotchkiss Brain Institute at the University of Calgary (Canada). Recruited as Foundation Professor & Chair of Molecular Physiology at the new School of Medicine, Western Sydney University (Australia) in 2008, he established the very successful Molecular Medicine Research Group. Returning to Canada (2016), he accepted an appointment at Brock University (St. Catharines, Canada). His transdisciplinary research focuses on molecular mechanisms and biomarkers. He is joint Editor-in-Chief of the journal Proteomes and supports independent and community research via membership in the Ronin Institute (NJ, USA) for Independent Scholarship. His goal is the integration of methods to ensure the deepest proteome analyses via critical, collegial, collaborative interactions.
