It is thought that MRI scans could have the potential to predict the progression of multiple sclerosis (MS) in those who have been recently diagnosed. This could then enable the most appropriate treatment options to be selected.
Approximately 2.3 million people live with MS globally. Some symptoms of the disease vary enormously between individuals and thus, until now, it has been difficult to predict how the disease will progress.
A recent study, published in Brain, has demonstrated that MRI scans could hold the key to predicting MS progression.
