Nanoporous material improves targeting of triple negative breast cancer cells

In a recent study from the University of Arkansas (AR, USA), researchers have used a metal–organic framework combined with ligands to create a nano drug to treat triple negative breast cancer. Triple negative breast cancer is an aggressive form of breast cancer and has the ability to metastasize through the body quickly. By using nanomaterials to target breast cancer cells, the cancer cells can be killed without causing adverse effects on the body, such as those seen with the current standard cytotoxic chemotherapy treatment.
